Twenty-Three Lawmakers Make 2004/05 “A List”

ALBANY – The Employer Alliance for Affordable Health Care – New York State’s largest single-issue grassroots business coalition – named 23 NYS legislators for their role in keeping health care affordable for small business owners and sole proprietors in New York State.

“A List” status is based on the legislator’s standing in the coalition’s annual Legislative Report Card – a document that evaluates every state lawmaker’s commitment to affordable health insurance. Grading is based on each lawmaker’s voting and bill introduction record, sponsorship of health insurance mandates and mandate reform, and other actions that demonstrate a commitment to affordable health care.

“The track record of each of these legislators shows an clear understanding of the challenges that many of New York’s sole proprietors and small businesses face in finding and maintaining affordable health insurance coverage,” said Alliance Chairman Jeff Leland. “The “A List” is our way of recognizing his commitment to providing every New Yorker access to basic, affordable health insurance.” Lawmakers named to the 2004-05 A List were:
